Who do you guys think will win a battle.
Itachi vs Pain and pain has all 6 paths
I think that if they fought 10 times, it would be 6 wins Itachi and 4 wins Pain
The edge goes to Itachi because of his Koto genjutsu, Izanami, and Izanagi

Itachi has never exhibited Izanagi, nor does he have access to to Kotoamatsukami.

Pein wins.

What would any version of Itachi do against Chibaku Tensei?

restricted pain wouldn't use CT till deva is alone and he would be unable to ST until it recharges. so alive itachi should win.
edo itachi, is fast and more than enough chakra to intercept and destroy CT before it enlarges especially w/ SClones

If pain is fighting at full power and Itachi can't use KA (which i am assuming he can't at least directly or hell lets say he can use it)....

I will give this in favour of pain. Itachi (real life Itachi not edo itachi) simply lacks the stamina and physical strength to put down pain. Yes Itachi is an exceptional ninja and has got unbeatable techs but once he loses the element of surprise with them he can be overwhelmed. Amaterasu can be countered easily and even if it isn't hell path restores the paths back to normal. Totsuka and Yata are definitely unbeatable but Itachi certainly can't use them indefinitely. Also since Itachi possesses the MS and not EMS he was shown to struggle heavily with using his MS for longer duration of time as seen when he and Kisame fled from Jiraiya. i also doubt that Nagato will be an easy prey for genjutsu, he certainly detected Sage genjutsu pretty quickly. There was a reason why he was the leader of Akatsuki and he single handedly took on an entire hidden village. It is Itachi's physical condition that will hamper him against Pain which are essentially puppets.

Pain could outlast Itachi, but Itachi can defeat Nagato, who is debatably stronger.

The only advantage Pain has over Nagato is numbers, and it is numbers that act as Itachi's exact weakness.

explain please? pain may have the field advantage but they are more vulnerable than nagato, so it balances out either way.

besides, it's not like itachi (edo atleast) couldn't match 6 paths with 3-5 clones.

Pain wins this Genjutsu wouldn't work ninjutsu would be absorbed, you can't totsuka something that's not alive (I.E. a corpse.) Rinnegan > MS. Itachi has no way to counter there shared vision. Plus he lacks in the stamina department. So imma give this to pain.

Itachi isn't winning a single fight against Pain.

Itachi vs Pain?
Why are you comparing an ant with an elephant?

KA is not itachi's jutsu. For god sake, just move your head out of itachi's ass. It was shisui jutsu and it was meant to stop itachi if itachi had to turn against konoha.

Itachi can't use it against ANYONE.

You need 6 Itachis to win against 6 paths of pain.Period!

Itachi excels in 1 on 1 battles. Genjutsu (unless it travels through multiple bodies because of shared vision) can only be cast on one target at a time, and Pain's shared vision means only one path even has to look at him at a time.

Amaterasu doesn't help much, as Preta can likely absorb it, Deva can repel it, and Naraka can repair any bodies that go down.

Summons are a huge problem for Itachi, as he would have to expend a lot of chakra to take care of them permanently.

Susano'o is almost required in order to evade Deva, Summons, and Asura path, which means his chakra will be drained relatively quickly.

Tsukuyomi is far far too risky.

Feints don't exactly work against 6+ fields of vision.

Katon Jutsus are absorbed, repelled, or repaired.

Itachi outclasses in speed, but again, the paths can be repaired, and a blitz won't work 6 times in a row before any counter can be implemented.

BUT

Nearly all of this is nullified against Nagato himself.

Genjutsu absolutely works just as well as against any other single opponent.

Amaterasu can immobilize, stall, or even kill Nagato.

Summons are dispelled instantly when Nagato is defeated, so as long as Itachi can take him down quickly, the summons won't be a problem.

Susano'o is only required against a single target, meaning it can be turned on and off when needed, and attacks will only come one at a time, meaning they could even be avoided if possible.

Tsukuyomi, like Genjutsu, is extremely effective against a single target, and there is no chance the chakra drain will be taken advantage of.

Feints are Itachi's specialty, and work extremely well against a single field of vision (assuming Summons aren't a priority).

Katon Jutsus can be absorbed, or repelled, but not repaired, and can act as distractions and feints against a single set of eyes.

Itachi still outclasses in speed, and only has to blitz or overcome Nagato once, rather than 6 times.
