Less versatile Genjutsu users such as Sasuke have caught Deidara and Danzo in a Sharingan Genjutsu, both of which have knowledge and the capability of perceiving/ countering it.

Itachi shouldn't have a problem catching Orochimaru in a genjutsu. Even with Orochimaru's Chakra and Sage Mode, Kabuto still took precautions to avoid Genjutsu. That indicates how powerful Sharingan Genjutsu is.

I've already made a thread addressing this exact encounter, I won't prolong this argument. There was no casual transition, Itachi rushed over to Orochimaru.

There's no convincing me this was a neg lol.

More like he left because Akatsuki had nothing for him. He betrayed Akatsuki when he attacked Itachi, do you really think he would've wanted to stay?
Not only that, but he moved under Itachi's paralysis Genjutsu. Even though he was utterly defeated, it's still impressive.

The incident happened years ago yet Jiraiya during P1 stated that he left recently. Itachi even recognizing Orochimaru's Hydra Technique implies that Orochimaru had many attempts to defeat Itachi and failed.

It... doesn't imply that... Pain could've sent Itachi and Kisame to raid one of Orochimaru's hideouts where Itachi found information on that Jutsu. That, or Orochimaru could've used that Jutsu in the presence of Itachi while he was still an Akatsuki member.

The idea that Orochimaru betrayed Akatsuki and they let it slide, let him remain a full member, then let it slide multiple times over, is silly.

True, considering the fact that neither Nagato nor Obito were the types to give someone as sneaky as Orochimaru some leeway.

Except everything Jiraiya has stated is entirely true and Jiraiya is the main source of information of Akatsuku. Even then, Jiraiya managed to infiltrate Pain's village while avoiding detection for the most part, so the idea of him not attaining accurate information seems rather odd to me.

Except Itachi recognized Orochimaru's Hydra technique from sensing it's presence.

Seems rather unlikely Orochimaru would reveal his highest level jutsu to people he didn't trust. esp. to the guy who he wanted to ambush. If anything, giving Itachi knowledge on his highest level technique puts Orochimaru at a disadvantage.

But then you realize this is Naruto. And Orochimaru was fighting back the paralysis, evident by how he was struggling to just clap his hands. It's literally all in the manga scans.

What about Zertsu Oro?

Only version of Orochimaru that is debatable in front of Itachi. Everything else get's stomped as shown in cannon twice.
