In that case, what stops Mu from simply going invisible and waiting till Itachi dies from holding up Susano'o?
Amaterasu doesnt really have a range, the flames spawn on whatever the user can see,
if itachi can see muu, then he gets hit, the range doesnt matter,
and Muu is never nuking him, when the time taken to form a reasonable amount of jinton would be more than enough for itachi to set him ablaze
Databook classifies Amaterasu as a short-range technique. Tried for like 10 minutes to find a scan of that databook page but the only ones I could find were in Spanish or Japanese. Oh well, Narutopedia says so anyway

.Mu can sense Amaterasu coming as well as the build-up of chakra in Itachi's eye. All he has to do is sense it, stop loading jinton, then react accordingly. By "react accordingly" I mean he can either dodge it or go invisible. And even if he does get hit somehow, he just splits in half to avoid damage. Bottom line is Amaterasu is definitely not a game changer.
