This isn't a vs thread. This thread is going to look at Itachi and Mianto's hype (because we all know Minato wins interms of feats) to determine who was greater.
I have looked around the net to get some real translations because as we all know, some of the chapters are not properly translated. I will reference them though.
Ok first, let's look at Itachi:
CHAPTER 142 PAGE 8: Kakashi discussing Itachi's seal speed
CHAPTER 142 PAGE 11
CHAPTER 148, PAGE 16: What Jiraiya talks to Naruto regarding Itachi and Kisame.
CHAPTER 221 PAGE 5: The teacher talking about Itachi as a student
CHAPTER: Can't remember atm xd Itachi says if he and Jiraiya were to fight, they'd end up killing eachother.
CHAPTER 390-395 (Somewhere there) Zetsu says Itachi is invincible with his legendary items....Itachi dies shortly after.
Itachi also has alot of hype regarding his intelligence.
Ok Now for Minato's:
CHAPTER 151 PAGE 14: Naruto about the 4th Hokage and the Rasengan
CHAPTER 321 PAGE 11: Kakashi tells Naruto he is the only one that will surpass the 4th
CHAPTER: Cover page. Kishimoto adresses the audience with regards to Minato
CHAPTER: Can't remember at the moment xd Jiraiya seriously hypes up Minato
CHAPTER 367 PAGE 11: Jiraiya says Minato had the talent you find once in a decade and they have not had a genius like him since.
Chapter 440, page 9: Minato essentially hyping himself (talking about his battle vs Tobi)
CHAPTER 240 PAGE 11: Kumo ninja says he was told to flee on sight upon seeing Minato
CHAPTER 541 PAGE 8: A talks about Minato
CHAPTER: I can't remember at the moment xd: Anko speaks about Minato (Orochimaru's invasion)
CHAPTER 503 PAGE 8: Tobi says Minato is worth to be called Hokage
Minato also has countless hype regarding his speed.
So, what can we take from this? I would say Minato has the greater hype. He has it from a variety of people, who I would say are more credible than those who hyped Itachi (Jiraiya, Kakashi, A and Kishi vs Zetsu, Asuma, Kuranei, Jiraiya). Minato also has much less panel time.
I will also rank their feats:
1. Minato vs Tobi and Kyuubi
2. Itachi 'one shots' Orochimaru
3. Itachi 'one shot' Orochimaru (2nd time)
4. Minato vs Armies
5. Edo Itachi & Sasuke vs Kabuto (2 vs 1)
6. Itachi vs 3 Tomoe Sasuke
7. Itachi vs Deidara
8. Itachi vs Part 1 Kakashi and Asuma
All in all I say Minato is superior in hype and feats. What do you think?
