Unless Kakashi can't break out of finger genjutsu (which I doubt) he takes it, his ninken should theoretically be able to help him break the genjutsu if it has to come to that. He has the advantage in cqc with his raikiri variants and rasengan,by databook equal in base taijutsu with Itachi but he can open the first gate, and he has shown to have superior elemental ninjutsu. Itachi's main advantage is faster handseals but Kakashi has already been shown to be able to counteract with his own jutsu through his analytical skills

Also, Itachi wasn't trying? He used a 72 hour tsukuyomi on Kakashi, that isn't not trying. Also this was part 1 Kakashi who is considerably weaker than he currently is

Itachi already outclassed him in jutsu speed in Part 1. That is beyond evident.

Itachi has a 5 in speed in the databooks, Sharingan does not make you physically faster, it makes your reactions better.

Rofl I'm dumb, sorry. It just mentally clicked this was kid Kakashi vs. kid Itachi, I was basing the fight on their current ages. If that is the case it probably goes to Itachi but Kakashi had war experience so I wouldn't count him out
