Jiraiya really has nothing for susanoo if itachis got it at that point(assuming he does) other than that itachis pretty smart, he'd probably just lead jiraiya into getting genjutsud before jiraiya had the chance to use sm.

Yata blocks attacks. I never stated jiraya breaks through. I said he sinks it while a toad sits of it to ease the sinking process. As for totsuka, it doesn't have much of speed feats. May be it seals one toad with surprise element but then other toads will avoid it. Plus if itachi has to fight toads with techs like susano or amaterasu then he is done for. As those techs have dangerous backlash which can be exploited. And sure amaterasu can one shot jiraya as i stated myself of jiraya isn't careful but clone spam can save jiraya a few times as it did against pain. And sound genjutsu also one shots itachi. Still i gave it to itachi 55/45.

itachi dies of chakra exhaustion after 30 min of fighting. with jiraiyas diverse jutsu arsenal that he seems to launch in quick succesion itachi would be forced into susano pretty early on if nit right off the bat. once in susano i give itachi maybe 10-15 min before he's useless.

my guess is jiraiya knows what the yata and totsuka are seeing as he's well traveled and knows alot about the naruto world and those 2 weapons are legendary.

so toad oil plus fire jutsu creates a big enough aoe attack to force itachi into susano and from there its a battle of attrition that jiraiya is most likely to win unless he gets genjutsued before summoning the chiefs to do sm

Fight ends at Amaterasu. Jiraiya has no feats showing he can dodge Amaterasu and considering he has an incomplete sage mode im willing to bet he cant detect it.

also the prep time for Sage mode is not faster than amaterasu so...

If fight doesn't end at genjutsu then it ends at Amaterasu

2017 and people still think Itachi vs Jiraiya is a good matchup. Itachi absolutely shits on Jiraiya.

Jiraiya's only chance is Gama Rinsho. Fukasaku and Shima can keep him from dying to amaterasu, but Gama Rinsho is the only technique he has that can pierce Yata/Susanoo.

Also kind of relies on him starting in SM.

Itachi wins 9/10 without being restricted.
