Back to the point: I do believe that an alive Itachi, with Totsuka and Yata, and an even remotely fresh MS, could beat to two in battle ("could"; not saying he "would").

Based on what we know, neither Hagoromo nor Kaguya knew about the three sacred treasures, so they would have no immediate counters to it. Of course the chance of Itachi winning, under the circumstances above, is about 10-15%, but, IMO, it's still possible.
