itachi is pretty much very inferior. he cant find the clam i dont think since the sharingan would only be seeing the chakra disruptions caused by genjutsu.
hozuki clan members are immune to physical attacks and their powerful suitons can cause dents in gaaras sand, pierce clones or drown people in a bubble prison.
itachi has nothing to answer jouki boi with. he cant slow down and defeat the clone. he cant stop the explosions themselves unless he has some heavy substance. amaterasu will vanish in the mirage as will totsuka.
furthermore onoki and gaara stood a chance because onoki and mizukage himself explained all his attacks and how to stop them. itachi is not privy to any of this. he has no idea killing the clam will end the mirage. he has no idea jouki boi has little to do with chakra based assault

Gaara's main weakness is speed.

i dont think so seeing how he handled A's kick and 5 madaras.

Either way you do realize that the Mizukage himself isn't skilled at genjutsu, it is his summons right? Just like how Jiraiya can't do a genjutsu to save his life but his summons can do an amazing genjutsu.
