What stops itachi from one shotting hashirama with tsukuyomi or totsuka blade. Hashirama isn't known for his speed so he wouldnt be able to dodge much from amaterasu or totsuka. He also would have to always be starting at itachi's feet if he wishes to prolong the fight. Itachi is very quick and a battle genius. If Hashirama decides to go sage mode and whip out the giant buddah, itachi can whip out susano'o and seal it with totsuka

Itachi's stamina is really the only argument needed, as the probability of Hashirama being able to stall Itachi long enough for him to run out of chakra and die from chakra exhaustion is high, if you ask me.

You can't put a wood under genjutsu so Totsuka doesn't work against objects. Hashirama fought with Madara many times. He knows not to look at MS. He can go in SM almost in instant. He can probably dodge Amaterasu in base mode as well since he is sensor type. He can anticipate an eye technique.
