Itachi killed his clan to prevent a civil war...

Uchiha Clan planned a coup d'etat which would've most likely turned into a civil war...
if the Uchiha would've started a Civil War, this would've costed a lot of innocent people their lives.
and let's face it... being the 2nd strongest clan in Konoha... they would've had a decent killcount before wiped out by other Konoha Shinobi...

Itachi stopped this, easily by wiping his clan out. <-- perfect score. the least victims/dead bodies
and that, i do not consider evil.

Itachi killed people that were evil, people that wanted nothing but power, people that wasn't kind.
and like i learned at very young age; "one who is kind to you (family / clan) but no one else... is not a kind person"
and the uchihas would've killed what i would guess, a lot of innocent people that didn't wanna get ruled by the Uchiha.

Itachi in my opinion is a true hero... in a twisted way...
Itachi killed... let's say ~50 guilty shinobis?
to save the lives of thousands of innocents...
now, that would a good thing, wouldn't it?

Itachi should've gotten a Medal of Honor
Itachi should've gotten his own Statue

but the fact that this massacre was always a secret...
a secret which would force Itachi himself to abandon his own home town...
but Itachi didn't mind... as long as he prevented a even bigger massacre of innocent people
and as long as his little brother Sasuke could live...
he was fine with that, even though everyone in Konoha would hate him
even though his own little brother would hate him...
he always knew that what he did, was a good thing in the end.

here is a funny example that makes me wonder...

a few weeks ago there was a thread about Code Geass... where everyone of you guys would say that Lelouch Lamperogue was a true hero of what he did...

but then it struck me... didn't Itachi do the exact same thing? kill what was supposed to be his family/heritage in ordet to save thousands of lives and create/remain peace?

why then, would you guys call Itachi a traitor and evil bastard etc?

this is just my opinion, not that i like Itachi that much... but in my head... this is called logic...

"if Hitler's wife killed Hitler, i would call Hitler's wife a Hero."
no matter if she was called a Traitor or if they were married, family or anything...
the wife would still be a hero who saved a huge amount of lives.
even if it meant taking another persons life.

i don't have time to write a lot more than this... but i hope a lot of you guys understand what i'm trying to say...

Itachi Uchiha is not a villain
Itachi Uchiha is not Evil
Itachi Uchiha sacrificed his own life just to save the lives of many others.

have a nice day boys and girls, i'm off for today. xoxo

Honestly this should be obvious. He was a leaf shinobi.

Now while the head members and the veterans of the Uchiha would have been guilty of this...there were probably large numbers of innocent Uchiha. Elderly, children, and probably others.

But still he took out the smaller number for the sake of the many.

Still should have tried to use Sasuke to help him, but it didn't happen.

More importantly it prevented war. Soon as the Coup would have worked the village would have gotten invaded. Back in the Ancient world Athens chose to refortify their defenses before they went off to war despite being called on by allies. Soon as the Leaf coup was finished another village would have invaded.

He didn't have to wipe out the entire clan. Thats so evil ! What did that massacre bring. A short term peace in the village.
But look now, an uchiha started the world war. Itachi should have killed a major uchiha like tobi. I believe he could have ''soloed'' tobi back then.
If u ask me i'd say His sacrifice went to waste.

I really don't understand why people make threads like this as it's blatanly obvious to anyone who reads the manga. If by any chance people think otherwise they really should stop reading it because they haven't got a clue.

True, but weren't there children in this clan, i honestly don't think every clan member new of the plan or even felt the same way as the elders.
Itachi was not evil, but his plan with Sasuke was probably his biggest f**k-up...
