I really can't believe the level of naivety with which some people are approaching this.

Itachi options include:

1. Join the rebellion. Danzo and most people see this a Itachi dying, but in reality this means murdering innocent Konoha ninja. People are horrified that he killed his own mother and father. OK: How is killing other people's mothers and fathers any better? Especially when these are 100% innocent, and his own would be guilty of instigating the violence?

And afterwards, the village of Konoha is weakened and the fourth ninja world war breaks out. Great, tons of people die, many times more than just the Uchiha clan. Parents will lose their children, children will lose their parents. How is it right that so many more families have to be destroyed just so Itachi doesn't have to kill his own?

2. Destroy his own clan before they can attack. No innocent Konoha ninja die. No world war. And Sasuke lives. The ones who die are for the most part the guilty party.

You cannot seriously claim that the first option is better than the second. Itachi's decision was heroic in the highest degree. That kind of sacrifice is harder to make by far than even giving up one's own life.

i won't say a traitor but rather a hero in a sense but i think he got what he deserved killed in indecent way , ofc he sacrificed a lot .
but he is not worthy of admiration , even if he is a hero .
i do have sympathy with him , but considering him the greatest hero is just too much asking
he can't get away from what he did
any way he doesn't deserve hate but also he doesn't deserve admiration
being a hero he deserves love , sympathy and a little respect

Well the Mafia has 'families' too u know . . . .

If Itachi loved his village more and saw himself as a protector of Konoha first than as Uchiha then what is ur problem?

Everyone has his choices and if he chose to be loyal to uchiha clan he wld be a traitor to the village he swore to protect. So he chose his duty first and worked to prevent a greater war by. He simply chose the path that wld save more lives, even if he suffered for it (He was crying badly if u noticed).

Agree completely to the bold.

At least he didn't end up as that grave robber Danzo's hoe and died painfully :D

I hate him with a passion now, especially after the last chapter

Yes, we get it. You're a Sasuke fanboy and you hate Itachi because he put Sasuke through tough sh!t. You don't have to post the same thing over and over again...

Sasuke is grave robber too u know. He took Itachi's eyes without permission. If not show one page that says Itachi wanted to give his eyes to Sasuke.

PS Itachi planned Sasuke to be put in KA if Sasuke was found to be using his eyes.

I also disagree because he killed his family, but if you were him what would you do? Let your family start a war and cause the death of innocent? I'm not saying his choice was the best, but I just don't know if there's any other way out.

I was mad at him, just like you. But it changed, right when Itachi admitted his mistake, because no one is perfect. People make mistakes, and that's what people made up of.

But I know my words wouldn't change your mind towards him. People have their own opinion, that's it.

I'm sorry, but that is a very naive way of looking at things. The Uchiha were way beyond being soothed by words. Itachi is definitely no coward. Killing your loved ones for the greater good takes messianic strength and willpower. If he was truly a coward he would've ran away from the situation all together and go hide somewhere.
Now answer my next question honestly. You have 2 options. Option 1:Kill your family and prevent a civil war followed by a world war that would have hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of casualties including women, children, and the elderly, or
Option 2: Spare your family and cause a civil war followed by a world war that would have millions of casualties.
Which would you choose?
The needs of the many...
BTW, I am an Itachi fan after seeing this last chapter because I saw the pain he endured to save the world. Does that make me a future serial killer?

I agree itachi is great and if he was a bastard, he would have killed his brother.

every-time i read manga 590, i keep wondering, itachi father was awesome, he told his son he was proud even as he was about to be done it by him, and that little prick still plunged a sword through his dad and mom chest, who the **** does that? how do you chose someone else over your own clan?

idc wat anyone wants to say, sasuke is completely justified is seeking revenge and i will be very disappointed if he dont at least kill the other 2 elders

no matter what you want to say about the uchiha, both clans were corrupt, senju was corrupt, and uchiha was corrupt, and if some people place you in a corner of the village and isolate you from society you have all the rights to want to revolt

fuk itachi, i used to like him but after manga 590 i hate his guts

He prevented a war, saved Sasuke's life, and didn't cause any deaths that weren't inevitable.

He acknowledged his mistakes, not many can do that. Itachi's personality IS the closest to perfect as a personality can be
By perfect do you mean kind hearted then that title would go to Naruto lol. It isn't until Itachi died that he started to realize his mistakes. If anyone else were given the chance to come back to life and repent than a lot of people can be classified as perfect.

I was not too fond of him to begin with, but now I hate him with a passion.

He is definitely not a hero, not even close.

so people who save millions of lives aren't heroes? who told u that?
