Everyone that knows him always seems to give him some type of praise, even if they want to kill him.

I mean he's been praised and remembered by the most powerful people, even Kaguya now wtf.

I dunno, I just can't think of another with as much hype as him.

The funnt thing is he's dead and has been for a long time and they still talk about him..... unlike Hiruzen.

When BZ was talking about itachi, he was simply making the most convenient comparison.

"Naruto, you aren't as fast as your father" would be more logical to say than "Naruto, you aren't as fast as the 2nd hokage".

BZ simply compared sasuke's intelligence [which is obviously lower] to his brothers, BZ could have said any name & the result would be the same.

Itachi is definitely one of the most popular characters who is mentioned a lot. But the most hyped would probably have to be Madara, who was feared by nearly every ninja and mentioned throughout the manga. Even among the fanbase, he was spoken of the most. :yeah:

I think deep down inside Kishi knows that Itachi was a waste of an awesome character. Imagine how useful he'd be like right about now. I'm sure he never second-guessed his use of Itachi, it's just in developing the guy strong enough to take on half the Uchiha Clan by himself without waking neighbors, he went a bit overboard. Madara lived up to his hype: He decimated the entire first company with his bare hands and the two turds he pulled out the sky's ass, He toyed with the Gokage and then fodderized them when he got bored, He took on the fully realized 8 and 9-tailed jinchurikis alone without having to regenerate, He commandeered all the bijuu and became the Juubu jin in two chapters with only one eye, and he solo'd the first and second hokages without his eyes. Prime Hiruzen is just a "what-if" favorite.

Black Zetsu was trying to get under Sasuke's skin. Itachi has always been intertwined with Sasuke, and was basically Sasuke's plot device through the whole series.

Considering too that Sasuke has a 3.5 in intelligence according to the databook, it's more of a fact.

Let me know when Itachi is said to be smarter than Shikamaru, then that will be some hype. Otherwise, most of Itachi's hype is pretty hollow.

considering the databook is heavily contradicted and that multiple characters have comented on sasukes intelligence, including madara, i doubt thats accurate
