These big words hurt my fragile little mind.

OT: Good observations and what not. Each person has their own sets of maral beliefs and no one has the exact same set of beliefs. Too each their own. Some of these words are in my sociology class.

What we, as humans, consider "Immoral" and "Moral" change as we advance through life.

For instance,

It's considered trashy to have kids before marriage, but where's the logic behind that? In the future, I believe, we'll rid ourselves of these illogical cultural/religious/societal doctrines...because virtually, they provide no direct benefits.

And next time, try to take it easy on the thesaurus, to make it more comprehensible enough for those with smaller mental capacities.

Edit:We're heading in the right direction, concerning our ideologies.

THANK YOU. These perilous ideologies will get us nowhere... For example, Stem Cell research and use. The Catholic Church forbids the use of them if they come from an aborted fetus... Why? It makes no sense that it can't be used since, it would be used to save another life. Yet the Catholic Church disregards that.

Societal differences are also to blame for division amongst races. Inferior minded people (Mostly people from the South in the US) think because (I don't mean to use them here but they are a perfect example) gangs have been associated with black people, that all people of black ethnicity are like that. Hell, some of them believe they are superior to them through racial properties and consider them slaves! Which is completely stupid...

I could go on.. But thank you for making this comment. As Ideologies and morals advance and evolve, we will one day abolish them and fulfill the potential of our misguided, yet potentially intelligent race (We can be considered intelligent to an extent now, but the possibilities given the capacity of the human brain is immense, beyond our comprehension at this given moment).

Repping you.

Utilitarianist sure but moral relativist? I see how you can make this assertion based on the fact that he seems to accept the fact that Sasuke is determined to destroy konoha and he does nothing to try to convince him otherwise but that action can also be interpretted as Itachi having high confidence in the fact that Naruto would be able to stop Sasuke.

Well actually were all sort of Moral relativist on some level, we have to be, so when you take the time to point out that Itachi is I assume your placing him at one of the extreme positions of Moral Relativism which more or less makes him a kind of Moral Nihilist... Ahh I think I am taking what your saying too literally. x__x

Eitherway cool thread, the peek into the chasm that is Itachi's idealogy is definitively interesting, not to mention that one Image of him behind his parents really sets the mood of the thread.

^^LOL, you're reading way too into it with the Moral Nihilism. It's more or so to establish how Itachi is a pillar for moral relativism and also how it can pertain to real life (Well, I applied that to my first reply).

I'm not sure that Itachi's philosophycal stance stops with moral relativism. I think he doesn't think there is a solid undisputable reality either, which usually but not necessarily goes along with moral relativism. He takes me back to Gorgias, in a sense.

(good thread)

lmao, I like how you start off with run-on sentences, then start utilizing comas in the last two sentences that look like paragraphs, but aren't.

I get your point, though.

So it's okay if I say I don't like gays n' lesbian love???
It is okay because you will utter bulls**t on the every level of reality.

On the topic; i think it is makes sense; concept of reality being relative is really common in science, literature, art, etc...
Einstein's theory of relativity is kinda similar to this concept; everyone and everything views the surrondings and overall universe differently; for example time might consists of just numbers which seems "universal" but when we are having fun; it flows quickly or when we are sitting on our asses and die from boredom, it flows slowly...

Einstein explaining Relativity to a layman: "Time moves slower inside an elevator when you're riding with a beautiful lady"
