Why?

• All Itachi has in his arsenal is Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susnao'o.
  He only used Amaterasu I think once or twice in the Sasuke battle, meaning it'll strain his eyes a whole lot. So he only has one shot at it, or two at the maximum. Tsukuyomi also strains his eyes a whole lot, so he won't be using that again and again after the Paths counter it. Itachi activates Susnao'o about two times at the maximum before it disappears, so if Preta Path kept absorbing Susano'o, Itachi would also find that Justu ineffective as well. So when it all comes down to it, Itachi simply can not win this battle at all. The Paths counter every single one of Itachi's Jutsu.

• Itachi can only use Amaterasu about twice before his eyes strain, whereas Sasuke can use Amaterasu multiple times and endure the eye strain. Tsukuyomi can't do anything to Sasuke since he can break out of it with his Eternal Mangekyo. So Itachi can't put Sasuke in a Genjutsu. Itachi loses the Susano'o game since Sasuke has now recently unlocked his Perfect Susano'o and he can combine his Susano'o with Amaterasu. Itachi can only hope to block, but he won't do that for long since Itachi's low stamina will deactivate Susano'o as Sasuke pursues his barrage of attacks.

• With Kamui, Obito dodges Totsuka Blade and anything else that Itachi tries to do to him. Rinnegan is just an added bonus to how Itachi would lose in a 1 v 1 fight.

• Juubi Jinchuuriki Obito solo'd Hashirama (clone, but he would've also solo'd the real one with ease) and Tobirama at the same time just by Blitzing them. No way Itachi could win this battle.

I really can't see Itachi beating Gaara in a Desert though.
If Gaara still had his killing intent in Pt.1, I don't think anybody could beat him in a Desert.

It isn't necessary for the terrain to be a desert. Itachi has a really low percentage of beating Gaara. Gaara has all the skills which smoothly counter Itachi's, including MS doujutsu.

Dude the point of gauntlets is to see if the character can beat any of the sets and if they don't pass number 1 you don't need to mention anything past 1. Itachi doesn't even beat the 1st one.
