There is no proof from the manga to say for a certainty that Madara put Hashirama under genjutsu; it now becomes obvious you made a troll bait thread.

I doubt Hashirama was under a genjutsu unless Madara used a kotoamatsukami like genjutsu because beside kotoamatsukami, no other sharingan genjutsu have shown the particularity to fool someone forever(sooner or later the opponent notices it), not even Itachi's genjutsu. But i agree with something in this thread eventhough i doubt Kishi would let it happen in an actual fight. So far, Hashirama has shown no counter for tsukuyomi, so if he is careless he can be beaten by the jutsu. Something you must take into consideration though is that tsukuyomi is classified as a close range attack(databook), so Itachi actually have to find the opportunity to put Hashirama in tsukuyomi in close range to win, something unlikely when you see the large OS techniques that Hashirama possess

No man, sorry. Itachi won't beat Hashirama. Genjutsu hasn't really ever been shown to be a weakness either. Madara having used Genjutsu hasn't even been confirmed yet.

Im not a Itachi fan far from it actualy. I hate him, but I cant deny hes one of the strongest genjutsu users and thats the main key to defeat Hashirama after reading the latest chapter. Madara is a strong genjutsu user, but not on the same level as Itachi.
If Madara can fool Hashi then I'm sure Itachi could also take adventage of this weakness. Striking first would be the deciding factor here.
I dont think Itachi can actualy finish him off with Tsukiyomi only, he would have to strike fast with Totsuka blade while Hashis stuck in genjutsu.

Normal atacks wont inflict fatal dmg so Totsuka blade is necessary here.

I believe Itachi is the perfect counter for Hashirama and whats worse this battle would end within seconds.

Dont get me wrong Hashirama is the superior one based on strength and stamina, but with the right technique and equipment you can beat anyone.

Itachi is the Ultimate counter for Hashirama.

Madara couldn't defeat him and yes madara could use genjutsu but it didn't work against hashi, why??? some people can break gen jutsu the ninja need to stop the chakra flow throughs his body and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the casters chakra and its called genjutsu dissipation and since hashi was one of the most powerful ninja, if not then the most powerful ninja, performing such a feat wouldn't be any problem for him and I do agree tsukyumi is a more powerful gen jutsu but since sasuke broke out of it I'm pretty sure hashi can also, do keep in mind that sword of totsuka doesn't work against a fast moving opponent, hashi solo'd madara with EMS so in simple terms madara>itach hashi>madara I don't hate itachi but this is pretty much it itachi can't solo hashi

it's never been comfirmed that madara used genjutsu. Could just be that he had someone hidden just incase he lost. Some like a juugo/karin/chiyo type person who could heal critical wounds/revive him. He was able to get obito to do his bidding while he was dead after all. (even if you argue that obito wouldn't revive him. Obito still was carrying out the moons eye plan, which was essentially the main mission)
