Why don't you 're watch naruto from the beginning when kishi messed up and gave itachi 2 designs for his MS. And when little info was given out there are times when the author gives information to the audience before the actual characters know what's going on . In this case it was us knowing itachi had a MS because before that fugaku explained the levels of a sharingan n knew the way to achieve MS.. Remember this was before we knew the truth about itachi and just thought he was a crazy villain .. bruh
