The only reason they had a hard time against kabuto was because itachi told sasuke not to kill him.

holding back offensively wouldnt decrease your defence and speed. itachi was blitzed. kabuto was holding back to AND had no edo army.

They honestly cant beat Kabuto so they definately cant beat Hashirama.
