Sasuke had the three-tomoe sharingan and still broke all of itachi's genjutsu including the ms one tsukuyomi, and forced Itachi into using his strongest technique susanoo. the difference in strength was only due to the fact that itachi had stronger eyes, plain and simple. the people who itachi defeated while alive- oro and deidara, were also beaten by hebi Sasuke. and hebi sasuke is way inferior to ems sasuke or even ms sasuke. ems sasuke was concerned for edo itachi's stamina, that shows the difference in levels between the two. and we don't even know what the full extent of his capabilities are.
