i think its about time we find out wat the gift is i think he sealed a peice of himself that wen sasuke attacks naruto itachi would appear and talk 2 him

I think it could be a self-activated technique that would blind sasuke forever if he tries to use the mangekyo on naruto. this would make sense because itachi said he hoped naruto wouldn't have to use it since he obviously wouldn't want sasuke to be blinded but by blinding sasuke the mangekyo and all other sharingans would be useless from that moment on. (unless sasuke managed to steal madaras eyes afterwards)

Itachi gift to Naruto was a jutsu to Kill Sasuke if Naruto could not stop Sasuke on His own, it a self activating jutsu a last precaution. Itachi told Naruto that He hope it would not come to be needed.

well im beggining to think that itachi didnt give naruto a certain ability or power . I think that he though sasuke will have his eyes implanted and if naruto dies or sasuke goes on destroying konoha and if naruto gets defeated , sasuke will die or he will lose his sight for ever .... i dont know just a guess out of many ... i probably will change my mind

Itachi hoped that Naruto would not need to use 'whatever he gave him.' WHY?

Because IT will kill Sasuke. The context of the conversation was about making the hard decisions life imposes on us, and in particular, about sacrificing yourself/someone for the sake of peace. In other words, the hard choice was between Sasuke and Konoha.

Obvious.. Welll, I was thinking Itachi might have even granted a kind of Sharingan. I mean, even thye ocular powera. I see Itachi a much too capable ninja as to not be able do something as amazing as that.. we've had even more impossible actions through out the series so, Why the **** not?

The power that Ittachi gave to Naruto will not activate unless Sasuke tries to Kill Naruto or tries to destroy the Village. Itachi so loved the Village that He would not even let His Brother destroy it. So hopefully we will never see or know that power if Naruto can save Sasuke.

If Itachi gave Naruto the power to control the nine tail it would be that Naruto would never lose control of himself in fox mode or using large amounts of Fox chakra, now that would give Naruto a new whey of fighting and creating new jutsus. Think of it managing normal chakra, with Sage and Fox chakra at the same time in large amounts.
