Itachi Protecting Sasuke.. Why??

Isn't he suppose to be in a genjutsu with a command line to "Protect Konoha"??
He received information that Sasuke is trying to strike against Konoha... so I think Itachi has to consider Sasuke an enemy.

K.A wears off as soon as the person it affects realises it's in effect. Itachi new it was K.A and it wore off. But it also cancelled Kabuto's control over him.
