Itachi planned on using Izanami to mind-bend Kabuto to the good side because he knew that MAdara(he thought tobi was madara, but still he knew how powerful tobi was and that there would be a need for assistance to stop him) So Itachi mind bent Kabuto so that he could escape the loop and come to Sasuke's aid.
