Itachi, because after everything he had to endure he stayed true to the village and his shinobi way, plus he did allow Sasuke to gain the power he has now.

Sasuke. His character has more depth, ingenuity, humanity, and complexity. Also, I would never value or respect any character who slaughtered his own kith and kin over something as redundant as patriotism. It just illustrates Itachi's petty dogmatic views which he held to his heart as if it were a Gospel. One of the most loathsome characters from the manga for me.

Never respected him.
