Itachi Never Learned Chidori!?!?!?!?

I was just watching some episodes from when Itachi and Kakashi were on ANBU and I can't believe Kakashi never taught him Chidori or at the very least he never copied it when Kakashi used it. In episode 358 or 359 Kakashi used Lightning Blade in front of Itachi and at that point Itachi's visual prowess was already very well renowned. The Sharingan literally allows the user to understand almost any Jutsu and the Lightning Blade and/or Chidori is an A-rank Jutsu and is clearly very useful. It just doesn't make sense to me. Itachi probably didn't have the lightning element so even if he understood how the jutsu worked if he can't change his chakra into lightning it's pointless. the wiki says he has fire, wind, water, yin and yang elements.

That is because Itachi doesn't have lightning as an elemental affinity. If you can remember correctly, he is primarily a fire jutsu user, and his secondary element is water. Chidori is a lightning based jutsu. The most frequent water jutsu we have seen Itachi use is a water clone. Sasuke was able to do it because he has lightning as a secondary element, as Kakashi have suspected from observations, claiming that he and sasuke have a lot of similarities in style

Well just because the sharigan can copy a justu does the mean he/she can use it? Unless I missed something canon we only really see kakashi use that ability on zabuza.

Itachi isn't lightning element. Plus he would need to practice the signs and learn precisely to channel lightning element in his palm, requires practice.

Well Itachi immediately recognized Chidori when Sasuke used it, and found its weakness quite simply.

Itachi at that time had mastery over his Sharingan, so he wouldn't even have to be taught he could just copy it

For the same reason Naruto never learned chidori. He can't.

No chidori does require hand signs.

Kakashi was significantly weaker than itachi, he had nothing to learn . Sasuke only learned it because Indra had a similar attack
