Itachi mind reading and his highly advanced Genjutsu

Not many people noticed this but in essence one could argue that Itachi's Minding combined with his Genjutsu allows him to further amplify his Genjutsu. This would explain how he constantly stays ahead of his opponents. Kabuto also states this when fighting Itachi

If you notice Naruto broke the Hypnosis however he was still locked within the genjutsu itself. This is when Itachi decided to upgrade his Genjutsu to level 2 which would in essence break Naruto's will.

In this state Itachi used Pain to try and break Naruto's will which he does a little as he must convince himself that he can break the genjutsu. However the 3rd and final stage of the Genjutsu takes effect.

In this state Itachi literally used every highly important person in Naruto's life and used the negative to try and break Naruto's will even more.

The question is how did Itachi know all of this information?

He has empathy for Kabuto because they had very similar childhoods, being great liars and discarded tools of a militarised Leaf Village. Itachi is also a great battle tactician but he's likely referring to the fact that you can defeat any villain by observing them (yknow, how Itachi fights) and additionally that they have a LOT in common, even down to the same generation.

He would've gone into a LOT more detail in their chat if he could read Naruto's mind. He's observant and pontificating as he's met Naruto multiple times and each time he's yelling about Sasuke. He also cast jutsu on him and saw this for example. Genjutsu reveals enemies' thoughts but reading minds is too much of a stretch even for NB. Otherwise he could've prevented Akatsuki's movements entirely by reading the higher-ups minds. Or prevented/won the Uchiha/Konoha war.

Itachi is not stupid to not know what does Naruto want, he is behind Sasuke like for 3 years. Also, he just plays with his mind and Naruto is the only one attacking himself with his thoughts.

Jiraiya even said that Genjutsu requieres more rain than anything. And Itachi is top 2 in most intelligent ninjas.
