Itachi knew who Tobi was ?!

itachi did know, why then would he say two different names , tobi and madara

So in one of the Naruto shippuden episodes.. Just after Sasuke beets Itachi... Tobi brings Sasuke to a cave to tell him the truth about Itachi and the Uchiha massacre.

During that time tobi partly takes off his mask revealing one of his eyes... As soon as sasuke sees that eye, his left eye turns into Itachi's MS and tobi gets burned by ameterasu..

Now, after that event tobi returns after somehow extinguishing the flame, and tells sasuke that Itachi actually implanted his ameterasu powers into sasuke so that whenever he saw that eye of tobi's it would activate the ameterasu on tobi..

But if what tobi says is true, then does that mean that Itachi knew the true identity of tobi?!?! Cuz atm, tobi seems to be Obito, but during that event in the cave tobi called himself madara...

So if it really was obito in the cave with sasuke, does that mean that Itachi actually wanted the ameterasu to activate when ever sasuke saw Obito's eye instead of madara's eye?!?! And does that mean itachi actually knew who tobi was ?!

very good points, personally I think we will find out the truth very soon, but if you look back when itachi shows sasuke that night you see madara not obito, i say this because the typical madara pose and the hair. before i thought madara died young but clearly not. By this logic that means both madara and obito revealed themselves to kisame and that makes me think that he and itachi know of both of them, itachi was probably madaras student and obito is his sibling student. itachi clearly didnt go along with them andfigured if he took out obito that ruins the whole plan.

he might had known about the plan, or the basics of it judging from some things he had said in various times (particularly when referring to making dreams, reality). i am not so sure what he knew in the end... and what's the point of him calling Tobi, Madara if he knew he was Obito or another Uchiha.

Its weird because Itachi called Obito Madara when he was talking to Sasuke. I remember him saying that Madara was merely a pathetic shell of his former self. However, when Itachi is Resurrected by Edo he starts calling Obito Tobi. I think Kishi's trolling with Tobi's identity confused himself lol xd

Itachi did not know. Obito had Minato, Itachi, Tsuchikage, and others tricked.

Obito survived with the Izanagi technique, which is something else Obito had that Itachi was not aware about. Obito > Itachi.
