Honestly I am led to believe it was the only way for Kishi to kill off these three characters that could have dominated nearly anyone in the Narutoverse was to give them a damn unknown disease. I believe that this unkown disease was the cause of the death for Hashirama who was said to be unrivaled by anyone but Madara, leading me to believe that his death in the first shinobi war was by this bs disease(or some other unknown disease) Dx< because I fail to believe that some fodder actually killed him in the war with his godlike signless medical/regeneration abilities which would be utterly useless against a disease (which attacks at cellular level).

Let me know what you think about my opinion and please try not to be rude about our disagreements if you happen to have a sufferers perspective on this.

Well, disease could killed a man, no matter how strong they are. Regeneration cells that expedite the healing process are also based on cellular levels, so the germs or the bacteria must have been one really powerful to penetrate and destroy it slowly.Let no mystery upon you my fren.

We still don't have a clue how Hashi died, but a uncureable disease would make sense.

To me its a indeed a way to handicap almost invincible characters.. Itachi, Kimmimaro, Ameyuri Ringo, .. (who knows maybe Hashi) ..

The three I mentioned (ita, kimmi, Ringo) all died young because of it so they didn't even reach their 'prime' yet .. they could've become even stronger :D

So very true but keep in mind that regeneration gives "birth" to new cells but does not cure those that are already infected with a disease. So wouldnt regeneration only speed up the spreading of the disease as its constantly creating new cells for the body to use. Infected cells aren't dead they're just taken over by the infection/disease.

Or Hashirama used some sort of jutsu that would shorten his lifespan, kinda like Tsunade. Just throwing it out there.

Possible but Madara stated that Hashirama could use medical ninjutsu without hand seals so why use something that would shorten your life span by making you near invincible(regeneration) when you can instead just heal yourself when taking damage. Also I don't remember staying that that Tsunade's and Hashirama's abilities were the same correct me if i'm wrong?

It really seems so.as we dont know how hashi died but itachi, kimimaro, sai's bro, ringo are those personnel that are stronger at their early age but have to die with disease before they can reach to their fullest.may be hashi is too like that.

considering the feats they pull off, its hard to imagine that they can die of diseases. But itachi was still done by one. The only sign they show of the disease is blood coughed out(haemoptysis). So, the d/d is tuberculosis or bronchogenic carcinoma(cancer).

Maybe THAT was what shortened his life span in the first place? Your cells can only split and regenerate a cerain number of times before your body wears itself out, hand seals or no. I'm fairly certain his fight against Madara could've warranted using techniques like that.I'd rather have this than him dying of some lame ass disease.

Hmm highly understandable, that thought never occurred to me. *****
And yea a disease would be a shitty way for Hashirama to die but it seems like trend to kill off otherwise "godlike" characters
