Itachi is utter garbage.

A lot of people love and admire this character but God is he a mistake. I mean come on, Hokage level intelligence at the age of seven? Give me a break. Itachi hadn't had half the brain to attend one Uchiha clan meeting to figure out the specifics of the plan and persuade the clan otherwise, he just let things coast.

Itachi tells Sasuke to kill his best friend for the Mangekyo, endangering the life of some random stranger for the sake of his personal vendetta. If Naruto hadn't been in team 7, whoever chased Sasuke down to the Final Valley would have died from that first chidori.

Itachi talks about how you shouldn't judge people based off of shallow misconceptions and yet he perceives the unruliness of his clan as annoying, fearful, and backwards pride rather than hearing his own clan's discrepancies out. He says and does both of these things in the same day. Congratulations Itachi, way to show virtue.

Itachi constantly flip flops, one minute concerned about peace and stability and the next minute "forgetting" to inform Konoha on the abilities of Akatsuki, causing unnecessary deaths that could have been avoided. He tortures his own little brother mentally, punches him in the gut, slaughters his entire family and extended family but can't bring himself to be angry at a village that segregated his clan and accused them of evils.

Itachi is an idealistic, brainwashed, patriotic, bland, sagely moron with no personality. This dude's entire life was ruined, along with the lives and dreams of his brother and family and still has the nerve to say "I'm still Itachi Uchiha of the leaf." The sheer brainwashing and blind patriotism in that just makes me worry about the people who love Itachi.


PS : If you are a part of a small ethnic group being mistreated by a government, please run a scan over the group to find any Itachi fans. The last thing you need is to be double teamed by that person and his psycho buddy in your sleep.

Probably. Tobirama's idea of them being police maybe a bad idea. But the whole concept of not having a place within the compound - I'm not sure where it comes from - Manga page I am forgetting or from fan fictions or other mediums?

It is said that they were isolated but this "isolation" doesn't mean they were living outside the village. As far as I understand from the manga they were very much within the village compound like everyone else. Within village they don't live in the same compound but every clan has it's own quarters.

I tried to look up if there were any map for exact location. But they are from games mostly. Still they all show Uchiha campus right beside the Hyuuga campus within the village. So... yea I read the claim many times but cant' find the original source.

It's a different writer and it contradicts some manga facts. So it doesn't work for me. Series may go on for forever but original work is original.

How exactly does it contradict the manga it give back story and context. The author himself was part of kishi's team. Kishi brainstorms ideas and plot lines with his mangaka. So its pretty much kishi's ideas being written out into a novel. Kishi also did the illustrations for the novels.

I understand series going on forever bit backstory will always fill in the gaps and doesn't affect the manga or story or sequence of events at all.

It contradicts when you say Uchiha wanted to use same compound as everyone else. I already referred to it above- in the manga Uchiha grounds were within the village. Otherwise everyone had their own quarters not a common one. Isolation comes in to play as in level of interactions with other people. I am not going to bother with rest of it.

The novel doesn't say that either what it says the Uchiha where isolated in that they were moved to a part where they were surrounded on all sides and could be cobtained if need be. And they were excluded from the government of the village. It never said the Uchiha wanted common quarters at all.

My main problem with Itachi is his portrayal, how Kishi kept calling him a hero through other characters. I like it when characters are morally ambiguous and flawed, but it's hard for me to see Itachi like that because of how much Kishi reinforces that I shouldn't.

I agree, Kishi went overboard and even went as far as calling him a pacifist....he's in a profession that involves killing? He has done lots of missions that involved killing anyway, ugh.

Do you know what the coup was about? Since Tobirama's time the Uchiha have been pressed they've even been pushed into the corner.
Wicked eyed Fugaku was Minato level + and the elders hid his feats in the war because he was an Uchiha. When Hokage selection came they didn't even consider him for it. After the 9 tails attack they cornwred and jsolated thw uchiha clan surroundeing them? They stripped them of their IMP powers and made them into a decorative force.

Even when Itachi was in the academy he experienced hate from others because he was Uchiha. His teachers who were senju descendants disliked him because he was an Uchiha.

Fugaku actually loved the village and was disappointed with the path they'd chosen. The Uchiha had had enough and wanted to do a coup to meet 4 demands.
To have a seat at the table where decisions were made.
To live wherever they wanted like other clans instead of at the compound.
To be given equal treatment as others.
And for Fugaku to be named 5th Hokage.

These demands were reasonable and they wanted to keep casualties to a minimum by kidnapping the 3rd and getting him to agree to the demands.

Anyway what was he protecting the Uchiha name from? Nothing they tried the normal route it failed and were forced to resort to extreme measures. So who's to blame the Uchih or the village.
The reason Shisui feared other countries starting a war was because the village elders/senju puppets wouldn't agree to the Uchiha demands. So who's in the wrong the Uchiha or the village.
Danzo wanted the Uchiha gone but he didn't have the power. how do you defeat Shisui, Itachi and a Minato level+ Fugaku? He had 0 ways and nor did konoha.
As for Obito killing the Uchiha there's no proof he would've ever done that. If that was his goal then neither Itachi or Sasuke would've been spared so that's fanfic. It would've been easier to convince Obito to join the Uchiha and crush konoha those who's sent Rin to her death.

That's because during Peins attack, Other villages need had bigger problems on their hands that attacking each other, That bigger problem being the akatsuki and them stealing their bijuu for what ever reason and the threat of Marada.



The benefits far outweigh the cost.
All of konoha's techniques, Clan hiden techs, Byakugan, Sharingan are all up for the taking for what ever army that decide to invade konoha while they're waring against themselves.



The war is outside of the plot, Plot shield doesn't help naruto in this situation.
Besides i doubt they would kill him, Atleast until they extract his bijuu or just keep him as a weapon of war.

Fugaku being minato level are just assumptions and there are no feats to back that up. Only the uchiha claimed he was minato+ level but then again even the hyugas claimed they were the strongest in the leaf.
Even if it were so, hiruzen took care of 'minato+ level' orochimaru so I don't think he would have any prob taking care of featless Fugaku
Itachi was new with his mangekyou that means no susanoo tsukuyomi or amaterasu
Shisui died even before the war started and danzo managed to take out his eye that means he could have used koto to take Fugaku or itachi out.
Kumo was always on the lookout to gain konoha's kekkei genkai killing head of the hyuga clan in the process(at least they thought they did). So nothing would have stopped them from invading
Uchiha couldn't have held against konoha + invading forces. The mangekyou users would have gone blind from constant fighting
There was absolutely no way uchiha would have survived the war on their own or konoha wouldn't have needed kids to fight the third ninja war

Now why would itachi help protect the village who just used him? Why would he go to such lengths to kill all his clan members just for peace? Sasuke wondered about the same thing and his talk with the hokages actually changed his mind to help protect the village. Go re-read the manga
