From the day Itachi was introduced he was OP. If Kishi considered what kind of power he gave Itachi, he could not be defeated. Noone can fight without eye contact, and a master genjutsu user such as Itachi could trap everyone in his genjutsu, even sharingan users. So no other character could ever beat him, but Kishi had to make adjustments for plot reasons. Even DBZ characters would be defeated by Itachi if they made eye contact, so argue all you want but its the truth.
