yes he is overrated but for good reason i believe nagato>itachi but deva wont solo. even kakashi,choji, and chozo wouldve killed deva had it not been for asura path(oh and the chakra sucking one is preta not asura, asura is the machine/missile one). though deva didnt use c/t agaisnt them he still might of died. if itachi lands tskukiyomi before c/t is finished deva is done. i think itachi can kill 3 paths but no more than that.

Its pretty stupid to say itachi beats any op character because itachi has no way to beat nagato he couldn't even break his way outta a weak sound genjutsu with out sasukes help or escape being controlled again by kabuto without sasuke, he couldn't do much against nagato without bee and narutos help (unless your talking about bailing out and attacking from in the shadows,even though he was clearly given every advantage in the book), he couldn't break out of edo tensei without shisuis eye, he couldn't even find the location of where kabuto was without nagatos sensing ability,this guy is pathetic,to beat two extremely op characters(kabuto/nagato) the two characters that were/are guaranteed victory against him,why does this so called prodigy have't to have assistance of the two main characters and than some? just goes to show he need other characters to make up for how weak he is without them, and than gets praised like he did everything?

Just going to post what I said in the other thread.

People are acting as if Nagato has no knowledge what so ever of Itachi's abilities. As an acting leader of Akatsuki it is not illogical to say that he would have certain amount of knowledge about each member and this includes Itachi.

The fact that Nagato deduced Itachi's possession of Amaterasu from the air pressure just goes to show

Nagato had prior knowledge about it. Therefore it would also be rather obvious about Itachi prowes in Genjutsu. Itachi using Amaterasu would be useless anyway since Nagato would be priory aware of its use.

. Asura Path is not just there for attacks but it also provides a good solid defence as well as repairing abilities.

The use of Totsuka Sword and Yata Mirror requires Itachi to bring out Susano and Susano can be dealt with numerous ways.

would be the ideal counter as you can't fully stop the dogs unless you stop the summoner, which is easier said then done against Nagato.

Does Itachi have good amount of knowledge about Nagato abilities? Well from what we have seen in the manga the only time Itachi was present when an ability of Nagato was used when Deva Path used the body jutsu to hold off Team Guy. Other than that there has been no reference what so ever about Itachi's knowledge on it apart from that Nagato has Rinnegan and maybe myth stories about the Rinnegan.

There are numerous ways how Nagato can counter majority of Itachi's attacks but it can't be said for Itachi when its the other way round.

As for the thread, I'd say Nagato>Itachi. Sure, there's two or so things Nagato can't counter. But on the other end of the stick, there's maybe 3-4 Itachi couldn't counter. When it comes down to it, I feel Nagato is better than Itachi.

Totsuka blade:Nagato flys away before he gets caught by it.


Nagato was distracted by Killer Bee and Naruto so thats why he got sealed.

Ok, while i definitely agree that Nagato is stronger than Itachi and WOULD beat him in a fight, i dont think Itachi is overrated. I still believe he's in the top 5 best in Naruto due to just sheer strength and difficulty to kill. Itachi's not overrated, Nagato's just basically God in human form

Nagato in the war is the embodiment of all 6 paths, so, yes he can fly, but no, Tsukiyumi couldn't bring Sasuke down, I doubt it could bring Nagato down

I think Itachi is indeed overrated.

But so is Nagato right? So is every single character that can be considered a candidate for top 20. Although since Itachi has never TRULY been defeated and has a generally cool attitude he has a bigger fan base and therefore gets overrated more then some (although he is still crazy powerful)

as for Nagato> itachi I agree, the mere fact that it can be argued by intelligent people that deva path alone can possibly beat Itachi is reason enough(not implying it will be a cake walk)
After all people seem to forget Nagato has also never TRULY been defeated in his prime either.
