i don't think so, he honestly thought tobi was madara, as did everyone else. and he said sasuke would be the third ALIVE to awaken the ms, along with tobi and himself. izuna and shisui were dead, and kakashi would only awaken his later (a feat that amazed itachi btw)

although obviously he lied a lot to sasuke and kept up a deception so that sasuke would avenge his clan and restore the uchiha name
