He did his job really well by neutralising Edo tensei, but take a look. All Edos were already captured or sealed besides from Kimimaro, Chiyo, Muu and Madara.
Before jumping into the conclusion Madara is definitively sealed(maybe Kishimoto prepare something with him), i'd like to leave him alone. So it stays Muu, Kimimaro and Chiyo who weren't sealed.
So if we take a look, the only ennemy he helped to defeat are Muu, Kimimaro and Chiyo(if we don't count Nagato). How can you tell he is the greatest Hero in the world, when he only sealed 3ennemies?
And he wasn't even alone cuz Sasuke helped him, and it's not even sure he could have succeed if Sasuke wasn't there. So on the other hand, Sasuke can be called a hero too, right?
And that is when you forget the fact that these 3ennemies are strong but not that strong. Naruto or someone else could have defeat them later.
So i don't understand people who say he is the greatest hero ever when he only sealed 3ennemies(if i don't count Madara). The great job was already done before by the others members of joint army
Don't also forget that Edos were summoned by Kabuto. At the start of this war, Tobi wanted to win it alone. So whether Kabuto was there or not, he already had a plan to win. So Itachi did his job well to neutralise Kabuto, but that doesn't even change a thing about Tobi's plan.
Anyway, like i've said, Itachi did his job well, i can't deny that. And in the case Madara is definivitely sealed i think i will change my mind since i don't see who could have defeated him except from Naruto(but he is already fighting Tobi atm), so he could have killed a lot of people and even destroy a part of the world at that time xd
