Itachi unlocked Sasuke's MS, foresaw that Sasuke would take Itachi's eyes to unlock EMS and is now rivaled as the strongest in NV. I'd say Itachi's plan worked out pretty good leaving the Uchiha name to Sasuke

He didn't unlock his MS. His MS was unlocked after experiencing the painful story of his brother. Hence the reason when Itachi's amaterasu was used, it was Itachi's MS pattern that was on Sasuke's eye, not Sasuke's pattern.

As for the rest, his plan to leave the Uchiha name to Sasuke involved keeping him away from Obito, which he failed to do so. That was the entire reason for the Amaterasu transfer. Please stick to the topic at hand instead of trying so hard to defend him for no reason. He said so himself. His first plan failed. His new plan, to leave it in the hands of Naruto however, has done a lot better.
