Now as many of you know, Itachi is the most powerful character in the series.
His jutsu are second to none, he solos all. But why did Kishimoto have him disappear so quickly?
After his fight with Kabuto, Sasuke's next fight was with Juubijins, who are only affected by Taijutsu and Senjutsu. Itachi was released from edo tensei not because he didn't have the ability to break out, but because he would have soloed Juubito and Juubidara.
Itachi is the one and only Phoenix Sage.
The reason Itachi was released by edo tensei was so he could prepare the Sage of Six Paths for meeting with Naruto and Sasuke, to teach the So6P how to give powerups like candy.
If Itachi were to meet Juubito or Juubidara he would seal them with his PS Totsuka.
But what about the fact that Itachi doesn't have Sage Mode?
That's the thing, Itachi does have Sage Mode.
Itachi's perfection of Sage Mode is so powerful, even when he isn't in Sage Mode, he is in Sage Mode, it's left a permanent imprint on his bodily features. The reason Itachi's marks are thinner is because his Sage Mode is more refined. The reason Itachi's marks are longer is because his Sage Mode is more powerful.
Itachi simply knew what Dragon Sage mode looks like before anyone
If that irrefutable proof is not enough for you, look at some of his techniques.
