Like Sasuke tried to break his bond with Naruto, now Itachi, seeing as his brother is beyond saving and has decided to become an avenger against Konoha, Itachi's most beloved village, will break any bonds left between him and Sasuke thus triggering an even more ruthless Sasuke, who will lose the last of his remaining compassion!

Itachi's just "eh, forget this guy." He knows all too well that Sasuke is lost. He's learned the truith and taken it completely the wrong way; Itachi sees this all too well. There's nothing that Itachi can do to put Sasuke in the right path, and so he has placed Sasuke on Naruto's shoulders. He knows that only Naruto could put him streight or stop him, that's why he gave Naruto the crow and left Sasuke in his hands. He's smart, and after everything he's done, he's decided that he won't make another foolish decision with himself or his brother ever again.

It kind of reminds me of the relationship between The Boss and Naked Snake (AKA Big Boss) in MGS3.

I think it puts Sasuke on the spot where he has to decide whether its a righteous crusade to avenge his brother or if its just that he has become crooked! So has he corrupted his soul is the bigger question???
