Hes eyesight would still be the same since he only had MS sickness aside he would be able to upkeep susano a bit longer but since its MS he cant really do much abaut hes eyesight. Ofc if he would use Shisuis eye on Jiraya it would be over. Appart from that no MS wont help him much vs jiraya.

There has also been absolutely no suggestion that Itachi's sickness affected his chakra reserves, as Kimimaro still received a 4.5 for his stamina in the databook despite his illness; Itachi had just a 2.5 in the same department.

itachi is both underrated by haters and overrated by fans.
Personally i like itachi. About how he is portraited..well, he is portraited as a hero, but there comes low-brains who had an emotional disturbing from some chapter and make threads whitout taking a chilling breath and pump up different shits. itachi has been portraited as a hero by kishimoto, this is how will remain. any other portraits are fan-made and their importance is 0.

Itachi, Minato, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Nagato are all depicted as Top Tier Ninja with great plot importance from the author and all have the hax'd abilities to back it up, with Senjutsu, Mangekyo Sharingan, Rinnegan, and Flying Thunder God.

They are all within the same tier and it all comes down to circumstance (Knoweldge and Plot). With knowledge Jiraiya could beat Nagato, but without it he looses. Itachi and Jiraiya who have some knowledge on each other but not full could go ether way as he states. Minato wants to fight Jiraiya because it would also be an interesting battle since both have a great deal of knowledge on each other. Jiraiya and Orochimaru both have a large amount of knowledge on each other, but not complete so the match could go ether way which is why they are rivals. Itachi has greater knowledge of Orochimaru's skills than Orochimaru does on him which is why he beats Orochimaru.

I don't think one can say these shinobi stand no chance against each other if circumstances are manipulated.

Your just putting out a fantasy. So your saying he would just sit in a black hole avoid activating MS and waiting to meet jiraya.. get real he would face many of oponents before jiraya. Its almoust same as saying Tobi should just let madara tire naruto then just pop and take kurama.. Like I said Ifs and Buts are not the case. Hes vision was already starting to get bad when he was still a konoha shinobi so eitherway hed have bad vision vs jiraya

When the characters are all within the same tier than knowledge decides the odds of whose going to win a match, while plot decides who is going to win. But knowledge won't change the outcome when the characters are in different tiers, like Jiraiya even with knowledge advantage couldn't hope to defeat Madara, just to throw out 1 example.

Where are you getting this notion that illness affects chakra? It's fanmade and absolutely baseless. Do you have any manga pages to back it up? I've already given you an example from the databook. When people think of 'healthy Itachi' they think about Edo Itachi, which is just ridiculous.
