Not only did Itachi make him his life project rather than himself (to protect his brother) he knew it was there, Orochimaru and Kabuto know the potential was there and not to mention he was literally a reincarnation of Indra.

Don't underestimate Kabuto now. That was his entire reason for acquiring Sasuke. The kid would've awakened it, and anyway being a descendant reincarnation of Indra it was his birthright to have anyway. It's his any way you look at it. Oro targeted Itachi before Sasuke was around also, Oro specifically spoke at length to how Sasuke was something new. Enough to change his entire lifestyle and motive around.

I use my brain yes, and dont read scans blindly. Not everything a character ever said in the mange was true, we all know that. Kishi wrote that way all the time, misleading the reader.

What u see is truth unless proven otherwise. If it is wrong then there would be contradicting evidence. Is there such evidence against Itachi being ill? :bdpf:

Just so u know the majority of what Obito said was true, but from his perspective. The only thing he lied about was his identity and that he wasn't the one that used the kyuubi to attack the village
