I am NOT reading all of that
. But if I can get the gist of from your posts, then Itachi was no very different from any other ninja. Except in konoha, tons of them are killers from a young age. Just look at Sai and Zabuza.
As tobi said... Itachi wanted sasuke to finish him off and return to the leaf as a hero... only itachi's plans didn't go as planned as sasuke met him earlier that Itachi intended him to.First of all, I'm not pretending to F*ck Itachi's rep around or stuff. I just want to post my thoughts bout his decisions in the angle of his mental state.
Sorry if any of my points have been stated before, I just didn't feel like reading every thread with Itachi in it.
Now, I've seen some ppl complaining bout Itachi's decision of torture Sasuke when he was an 8-year-old. I think Itachi did it for these reasons:
1. To give Sasuke a reason to live. Even if Sasuke ignored who the culprit was, his life would have been just s"·t. Itachi couldn't kill him cause he loved him, but it was uncertain if Sasuke could ever overcame the massacre (and we know he couldn't). Being a naive 8-year-old maybe he could never have will to stand up again. So Itachi made him hate him to encourage Sasuke and made him strong (as we know) and also as punishment for him-self (despite the fact he killed Uchiha clan for >>good<< reasons, he still thought that murder was a crime and wanted to be punished for that. He only happened to desire to be useful for Sasuke even as a criminal. Besides, which could be a greatest punishment that knowing hatred by possibly the only person beloved more than your village?).
2. He had no common sense. He have to remember that according to Tobi, Itachi experienced war while he was very young. He lived hell before he could understand a thing. How we can expect common sense of him?

Obviously he was desperate to avoid war, and he would have done (and he did) anything to achieve it (though it didn't work at the end).

Then, when he casted Tsukoyomi in Sasuke he may thought that Sasuke could overcame, since maybe it was not as horrible as living in war times.
3.Itachi was ruthless. At the time, he considered him-self as the only one able to stop Uchiha's coup d ' état (since Shisui was already dead).

Despite how unethical a coup d' état may sound, why he decided to raise against them? He knew (I presume) how many higher-ups feared the Uchiha clan, and how they kept surveillance on them. That they had little perspectives. He may felt it him-self. So then why he didn't support his clan?

Why he beloved his village more that his family(except for Sasuke of course)?

First, they were his experiences from war.
But secondly, and a motive as strong as first, he didn't like his clan (I presume). Itachi felt sick of how his clan was indolent towards the possible consequences their coup d' état could have.

Even more: He may felt angry on how his father treated Sasuke: only measuring him for his strength, like a tool, instead seeing him as his son.

Hating your own father makes you ruthless.
Killling him makes ya even more ruthless.
We've even seen his last words to Sasuke (I've no regrets/ I have no more attachments to this world-idk which translation is more accurate, but it doesn't matter, they mean the same: "I will not stay in this world anymore, not even for you, little brother.)
He has his reasons for being ruthless anyway.
Thoughts?
