Not only does this quote have no indication that Itachi was referring to the two engaging in a fight, the relationship that Naruto and Sauce share is described by Itachi as being Brotherly, heavily implying that he wanted him to negotiate with Sasuke in a non violent manner. Why would he want Naruto to deal with with Sasuke? Because like a brother he would understand him better than almost anyone, much like his real brother.
