Itachi failed (not debatable)

OK so Itachi is my favourite character because he is so god damned excellent.
And all that he did he did out of good intentions. He was a good guy.

But boy did he fail miserably


Black on white this is what he did:

Killed off his clan

alienated his brother

stopped edo tensei so Madara could break free
(this is debatable: some poeple think that Madara had the means to break free all the time, not just when the jutsu was released)

Moot point, at any time madara would have broken free.

Killed off his clan

Danzo, hiruzen etc would have done it if he didn't..
Danzo gave him the ultimatum... DO IT and save your brother, or let us do it and he and the rest of them die..

Itachi did fail, but not because of any of the reasons you listed... as stated many times before... his actions still stopped an internal war which would have led to a world ninja war.. with konoha having to fight two wars at once.. they would surely be destroyed.. know what that means?

Itachi would never have made a deal with tobi saying konoha was off limits.. meaning nagato etc could just take konoha while naruto was still like 5

He even admitted that he failed in the Manga, it could of gone a lot better but he still managed it for the most part. As for the edo tensei i'm pretty sure Madara had the means to break free the whole time, why would it be limited? if anything he should have been sealed if that's the case.

Madara did always have the means, especially since Kabuto gave him free reign of his abilities. Itachi did fail, but not to an extreme extent.

Killing his own loving parents is the most disgusting thing. If his clan had been abusive to him and his parents had raped him and were tormenting him and were going to torment his little brother, I'd get it. But no, it was nothing more then a political disagreement that got him tourist his own parents.

I get he was blackmailed, but how do you choose a government that wants to oppress people over your own treasure of a family? I canno. Forgive Itachi for talking to Naruto like a brother then treating Sasuke, the one who suffered by your own force, like a pest?

He did admitted it was a bad decision to kill his clan though since he said Sasuke could have make their parents change their decision. Because of that, he eradicated a plan alongside with Tobi(with whom he made a pact) when there was no need at all
