Itachi & Edo Tensei

I and many other are confused about Itachi's Edo tensei status so I thought I would make this thread.

As far as I am aware Itachi is an Edo Tensei and therefore if kabuto is made to end the technique he will disappear. I was under the impression that the command ' protect konoha' implanted in the crows eye didn't break the Edo tensei jutsu, but intead overrode the control talisman that Kabuto implanted. Therefore with the talisman overridden itachi is free to do as he pleases.

So if kabuto ends his technique I think Itachi goes with it. This would not allow itachi to talk to sasuke (once again) and it would be a sad kishi style moment between brothers as itachi fades away in front of Sasuke. So what do you reckon does breaking Edo tensei, make Itachi go with it? If not why?

Yup, like Kabuto said if he dies the edo's will remain wondering, thats what Itachi is doing-wondering with full control of himself-

good point.....but I dont think Itachi goes back on his word(promising Sasuke that he will talk to him) and Itachi being as smart as he is has probably thought about this....we will see

He did say capture and defeat Kabuto. I guess before he ends the Jutsu, he'll talk with Sasuke.

not 100% sure, no facts to back it up but i dont think all the summon's are connected to each other. so why wont he just end itachi's edo right now. so i feel he lost 100% control over itachi and that mean he wont be unsummoned.

This is exactly what I've been wondering about...

Itachi finally promises Sasuke that he won't go away and that he will answer his questions. But is he just saying that, even though he knows that he will disapear when the edo is cancelled? I'm thinking that if he disapears without giving any answers or time to Sasuke again then Sasuke will go bananaz.

Thats why I'm pretty sure that Itachi knows that he will still be around after the edo is cancelled. He simply could't dissapoint his younger brother YET AGAIN!

Maybe he will be honor'd in the leaf village then , being sealed by [a] Hokage
or maybe his brother but does sasuke even know any sealing tech ? o.0

Yeah if kabuto dies itachi will live forever (until sealed away).

The protect the leaf order has served its usefulness. It was to be used against sauske. It cast shusuis genjutsu on Itachi freeing him from the mind control aspect of kabutomarus jutsu. Instead of being used on sauske if and when he came for revenge on the leaf. Itachi is still a summon of the jutsu so he should be released if/when the jutsu stops. Will it be sad not really let the dead rest in peace. Sauske needs to stop being a asshat and it will make fora few good chapters.
