Btw UchihaMaru, you were only right about one thing:a Rinnegan user can be genjutsu'd. However since this Rinnegan user knows so much about Itachi's Mangekyo that he can discern the preparation of Amaterasu from the change in air pressure, its highly unlikely that he would be so ignorant as to make eye contact.

The rinnegan much like the other two great eyes can see through genjutsu therefore any genjutsu that isnt either izanami or tsukuyomi wouldnt work. Secondly itachi hasnt shown a long range technique that is strong enough to get past ct. Perhaps a yasaka' magatama spam could do the trick, but the longer it takes to break ct the longer ct gets stronger/bigger
