Without itachi, konoha would of been finish. So you people who are saying he's evil STFU, if he was truely evil he would be running akatsuki by now.
Its like it stated in the manga, Itachi could see the bigger picture and he also took himself out of the equation so to speak. I consider him a hero but not in the sense that he saved the village, but the fact that he saved the entire world. If he would not have done what he did the 4th world ninja war would have begun alot sooner and Obito would have taken this opportunity to start the moons eye plan.
Thnxx Itachi Fans...
please.. no more itachi threads for awhile :'(
Let The topic get completed for once and for all.....;) xd

the clan massacre was the only good thing he ever did with his life.

- tortured mocked and put sasuke in a coma
- ordered narutos attempted murder
- would have captured naruto if jiraiya didnt see through the genjutsu
- was going to stand there and let kisame kill asuma and tortured kakashi for no reason (regular genjutsu could serve the same purpose if he coudl apparently beat oro with it)
- planned to enslave and steal his brothers free will for eternity
- tried to kill kakashi (he never acted like he expected the water bunshin)
- failed to do anythign about akatsuki other than keep them away from konoha for a decade. gave no one any useful intel. kabuto was more helpful than him.
- helped akatsuki kill 7 people and continued to work for them when hiruzne is dead and thus his mission was done
- believed naruto could never get the power he ended up getting and still tried to send him to fight a possible evil MS sasuke.
- never trusted or even liked sasuke very much considering he manipulated him at every turn and had backup after backup in case "the right person paints his canvas black". was sasuke so mentally fragile that itachi thought any old guy could turn this kid evil? wow
- mindraped sasuke AGAIN and got him drunk on haterade

Ahh...you hate Itachi sooo much that you can't think clearly......

tortured mocked and put sasuke in a coma

He did it to make Sasuke stronger, fuel his hatred, so that he will quickly seek power and become powerful.

ordered narutos attempted murder

Aaaa....when? he never actually did so.

would have captured naruto if jiraiya didnt see through the genjutsu

Again wrong, he didn't actually wanted to capture naruto, he was just showing off to kisame that he is completing his akatsuki mission, but his real motive was different. If he really wanted to capture naruto, he would have used amaterasu on jiraya instead of the wall and take naruto from there.

was going to stand there and let kisame kill asuma and tortured kakashi for no reason (regular genjutsu could serve the same purpose if he coudl apparently beat oro with it)

Again no, he knew guy was coming and going to interfere...And about Kakashi, a genjutsu casted on sharingan user is useless, kakashi can break out of it, tsukuyomi was only way to "kill" without trouble.

planned to enslave and steal his brothers free will for eternity

What bull**** are you talking about?

tried to kill kakashi (he never acted like he expected the water bunshin)

Well, atleast he wanted to injure them and escape.

failed to do anythign about akatsuki other than keep them away from konoha for a decade. gave no one any useful intel. kabuto was more helpful than him.

Well, you know, when you are in a organisation with high level shinobi, you can't take the risk to betray and kill them, or sneak out and pass some info.

helped akatsuki kill 7 people and continued to work for them when hiruzne is dead and thus his mission was done

And who are those 7 people?

believed naruto could never get the power he ended up getting and still tried to send him to fight a possible evil MS sasuke.

Well, Itachi didn't knew naruto well, he visited him hardly 2 times for 2-3 min, and he cannot really totally trust him. but after he saw naruto's dedication to sasuke, he let naruto to handle sasuke instead.
never trusted or even liked sasuke very much considering he manipulated him at every turn and had backup after backup in case "the right person paints his canvas black". was sasuke so mentally fragile that itachi thought any old guy could turn this kid evil? wow

Bolded:- REALLY? man have to taken heroin?

mindraped sasuke AGAIN and got him drunk on haterade

When did he mindraped him again????

He is a hero within the shadows of Konoha; for me he transcends the image of the Hokage :)

Itachi joined the Akatsuki To save the shinobi from where nagato could have gone wrong...As a spy!!
itachi joined the akatsuki and saved not a single soul and is partly responsible for the juubi since he helped akatsuki get the jins and told konoha nothing useful when they started
I consider him a hero but not in the sense that he saved the village, but the fact that he saved the entire world. If he would not have done what he did the 4th world ninja war would have begun alot sooner and Obito would have taken this opportunity to start the moons eye plan
then danzo is the bigger hero since he told itachi to do it. but you ignore that conveniantly
e did it to make Sasuke stronger, fuel his hatred, so that he will quickly seek power and become powerful.
powerful and also power HUNGRY ruthless and corrupt. do you really think fuelling someones hatred and making them seek power is going to be good in the long run? itachi does not get human nature or even have common sense
Aaaa....when? he never actually did so.
"you must kill your friend to get the MS"

gain wrong, he didn't actually wanted to capture naruto, he was just showing off to kisame that he is completing his akatsuki mission, but his real motive was different. If he really wanted to capture naruto, he would have used amaterasu on jiraya instead of the wall and take naruto from there.
kisame didnt give a ****. kakuzu outright killed his partners. if he really didnt want to capture naruto he could have left on the pretense he cant beat jiraiya rather than try underhanded tactics like a genjutsu'd ***** to lure jiraiya away
Well, Itachi didn't knew naruto well, he visited him hardly 2 times for 2-3 min, and he cannot really totally trust him
then he shouldnt have given him KA and left konohas defence in his hands
What bull**** are you talking about?
read the manga
ell, you know, when you are in a organisation with high level shinobi, you can't take the risk to betray and kill them, or sneak out and pass some info.
then dont join them. problem solved. if he knew he wasnt getting anything out of going to akatsuki he should have left and told danzo "dude send someone else". he was ultimately useless and wasted konohas time by doing nothing for 10 years
Again no, he knew guy was coming
no he didnt. the excalamation mark proves this
kakashi can break out of it, tsukuyomi was only way to "kill" without trouble.
tsukiyomi was brutal sadistic and cruel. no sane man would think up this jutsu

See what I say is people are different their opinions are different...
But considering Itachi a Hero is another topic!!
Heroes are not Stereotypical And of the same package...They may vary...
A hero is the one struggles for the sake of others, makes sacrifices...
He indeed is a Hero from this Point of view...
U may see It as He sacrificed the whole of his clan..That isn't easy you see!
Just Proving your heriocs doesn't make you a Hero But Thinking and taking actions for the Betterment of your society does!!:hint:

No he isnt Hero Why Killing your own Clan,Frends and Family Make u Hero-In my Country We Call them Murders
He alsou Killed an Jinchiuriki and a lot of innocent peoples So hes not a hero.......(Thats My opinion).

Itachi is a true hero. He lived a war when he was four, so he didn't want to have a war again. The mission they gave to him
was given to him to prevent a war. He went crying out of the village, ISN´T HE A TRUE HERO ??
He made sasuke stronger, he gave him amaterasu when he sees Tobi and he gave KA to Naruto. I repeat ISN´T HE A TRUE HERO?
It´s obvious that he is a hero
