And like i said, after the first one Itachi would already be pretty far away from Nagato, for him to get close enough and use the sword again (which i doubt would happen because Itachi is not the type to spam) would take some time.

Itachi is faster than Nagato, it is manga fact stated by Kabumaru after Itachi 1 shots Nagato. Fail more anti-manga Nagato fanboy.
Shinra Tensei has 5 sec cooldown, it can repel 1 stab, second stab will get him. In the manga it was proven that Nagato wasn't even fast enough to repel the first stab LOLLOLOLOLOL!
Chibaku Tensei would be sealed by a Sword of Totsuka Stab.
If he was faster than Itachi then that would be acceptable, but he isn't. Itachi wouldn't jus stand there.
Tsukuyomi is also another tool that can defeat Nagato, or is Nagato immune to Genjutsu?
he wont fall in genjutsu if he doesnt look into his eyes and he keeps his distance, all Itachi's genjutsu are short range and Itachi's speed wont matter under the influence of Bansho Ten'n, you can't dodge it so Itachi loses.

1. Itachi's Genjutsu are not short range.
2. Itachi doesn't need to dodge anything, he has the Yata Mirror, the strongest ultimate defence ever shown in the manga.

Of course he can't defeat Nagato without any damage, but people are saying that Itachi doesn't have a chance against Nagato, because Nagato has more power. Itachi is faster, more intelligent, better in genjutsu etc. so I can't see any reason that why Itachi ccouldn't beat Nagato.
How is he faster? Nagato took on a hyuuga(hinata) with the tiger fist without even trying to land a hit. All of hinata's attaks were dodged.
What proves itachi is smarter?
Even without having the Six Paths in separate bodies, Nagato can still take advantage of the Rinnegan's shared vision by bringing Animal Realm's summons onto the field. However, Itachi's fight with the Edo Tensei Nagato showed that he can negate this advantage by blinding the summons with simple projectile weapons.
Deva Path's powers, collectively, are probably the most powerful weapons Nagato possesses. But these too can be countered by Itachi. We've seen that Susano'o is capable of grabbing people, which means that it should be able to hold onto Itachi and anchor him against Bansho Tenin and even Chibaku Tensei's gravitational pull.
Aside from Deva, Asura Path is probably the most destructive of Nagato's "avatars". However, the defense of Susano'o will stop missiles and lasers cold.
Tell me just how would Itachi handle Nagato alone when he could easily summon some creatures to delay Itachi for a little time while he prepare a big enough Chibaku Tensei... If Itachi tries to attack: Ninjutsu won't work cause he could absorb it, and if nothing works he can still use Shinra Tensei, and Itachi has above average speed at most so he won't like reach Nagato in a split second after Shinra tensei is used on him.
Also keep in Mind that in that Fight Nagato was controlled by Kabuto... Nagato knows his weak and strong points Better that anyone else, something Kabuto doesn't know (just like with the 3rd Raikage)
And remember that Naruto was there to tell Itachi and Bee about Nagato's jutsu.

Fighting for the first time with your opponent is not that easy. It takes some time before you figure out his abilities, especially Nagato who has many of them and all very different.
And another thing you are assuming Itachi would actually starh the fight with susanoo, with it is clear that he wouldn't.
The only thing that presents a problem for Nagato is the Sword... So it could go iether way, depending on who makes his best move first (Itachi catching Nagato with the sword, or Nagato creating a chibaku Tensei) i tend to think there are more Chances for Nagato.
The sword actually caries a risk. Despite the sword it self being spiritual and not having any form, it comes from a very physical thing - "the Sake Jar". If nagato got close enough he could absorb Susano'o arm and take the jar. Or with a big enough Ct the jar would just be dragged into it.
why do people hype itachis flimsy ass sword of totsuka up so much? any one with mobility can simply dodge that stupid thing not that hard...and i remember nagato saving itachis ass when bee was about to pierce his head off with his sword,don't believe me

itachi hit nagato with amateratsu true but hell with his movements were being controlled so were the movements of his summonings its easy to hit a target when they can't move and to top it all off their being controlled making their ability to defend useless plus itachi has the distraction and help of the 8 and 9 tailed jins wtf? and to top it all off half the damn manga he didn't even have his full attention on itachi, if itachi can't do anything with all those advantages that he truly is sorry is hell.
