Ok people, Im not going to go into to much detail and explain where everything came from, you can spend the time to check it up if you like.
Not to bore you with details, but going to run through it quick this is my take currently on the whole Uchiha and what might of happened that night, and things are starting to fall into place.
It all started off with a little Itachi. This person have probably the most integral role regarding the Uchiha history to play than any of us would have noticed. First he was a genius becoming an ANBU captain at 13 and having developed a full sharingan at a remarkable age. He have seen war at an early age and was lets call it use to dead people, killing and violence, this made him realize that its an awful situation and he wants to protect as many people as possible from such an event.
Itachi had a friend, one called Shisui Uchiha, which also was a remarkable member, and the village also have had high expectations from him.
As Itachi grew older and learned more about what is happening between his clan and Konoha, and more about ANBU and ROOT he started to become miserable, we can see it later on in the manga, with the tension between him and his father growing. At a certain point his friend was killed, and it was said that Itachi was responsible for that.
This doesnt seem to fit the description very well as Itachi did not like war or violence even though he have seen it, he despised it. Also killing your best friend sure is a deed not to be done so easily. What was the driving force? Was it the MS, no I doubt that (Since Madara and his brother have developed theirs through constant battle, I think that is the more likely route Itachi would have taken). I have a greater suspicion, I say that Itachi was set up, he was not responsible for the killing of Shisui. This was a carefully planned assassination from Danzou, a task executed by root, in order to achieve a couple of things.
1. To obtain the sharingan from Shisui.
2. To frame Itachi.
3. Danzou is Senju,
4. Getting rid of Uchiha
Im not a fan to believe that Danzou is Madara, but I rather think that they are rivals, the exact same person but on the opposites of the fence. Madara for Uchiha, Danzou for Senju. Madara wants revenge for the Uchiha's. Danzou for the fallen Senju's and to protect the village from a coup de tat, and any future havoc that the Uchiha's could cause.
This is a battle between Danzou and Madara and I would so like to see that playing off, rather than a Danzou vs Sasuke fight.
Now, this answers a couple of questions. How Danzou received his Sharnigan, Why the Uchiha killing took place, Why Madara sent Sasuke after Danzou, why Itachi left the village, why Itachi wanted to make Sasuke become stronger than him (To actaully avenge the Uchihas and himself, from Danzou and Madara)
Ok, people this is only a prediction, one that is not necessarily the truth, but I would laugh my ars of it actually does play out to be like that. ; )

Of course, there is so much that can be gained from getting one of those! ; ) This also explains why the suicide note was copied perfectly. It doesnt fit Itachi nature to do such a sloppy job, if he would have wanted to kill him he would have done so full stop. No notes or other cr@p to try and hide it. This was definitely a set up
2. To frame Itachi.
Danzou know that Itachi is a smart boy, he will figure out all that Danzou have done (Under the table if you know what I mean) and that poses a big threat in itself.
3. Danzou is Senju,
I think he was actually part of the elite Senju group, think about it people, why else would he be an elder, why do you think he have so much say and power in Konoha almost to the same level of a Kage, and this is not because he owns part of an ANBU division Root. We all know what happend between Senju and Uchiha long ago. Certain people never make peace, and it could be that the grudge of old is still lingering strong with that one.
4. Getting rid of Uchiha
Yes folks, youve heard it. Why else would he have such a big grudge against the Uchihas? He is senju and by framing Itachi, his nice little plan fell in together. He now have the ability to use Itachi and destroy the Uchiha with one shot. Playing them off against one another.
