If he knew that the man behind the mask is Madara,why didn't he try to kill him instead of trying to negociate with him.I'm sure Itachi was not stupid an knew about Madara's past,that he was an evil person and he knew that the ninja world would have to fight him in the future(but he wasn't Madara,he is Obito,but as evil as Madara).

If Itachi would have tried harder to study him in all details,like Konan did,I think he could have finished Tobi.Also he would have saved Sasuke from becoming his puppet,too.

Correct. Tobi used Madara's name to put fear in his opposition, which worked. Itachi didn't think of killing him because he was under the impression he was Uchiha Madara immortal, EMS and all that bullshit. So if itachi would have figured out he's not who he claims to be he'd been a goner.

Lol quit making shit up. Tobi taught him nothing, maybe how the mangekyo and EMS can be awakened. There's nothing else he could have taught itachi. Itachi was a battle genius from the start and his intelligence was a few notches above everyone in the clan like kabuto said.
