exactly my point. If Itachi didn't make him so hellbent on revenge then he wouldn't have left the village or found out the truth, plus he would have created strong bonds with Naruto and others, which would prevent him wanting to destroy konoha because he would have had people he loved there instead of cutting all ties. This ^. By his own admission he was a bad brother so why are we arguing. If Itachi didn't make him so hellbent on hatred and revenge, especially when he came back to the leaf, Sasuke would have still grown up to be a great jonin he was a genius and started to care about his friends, all he ever wanted to do was become part of the police force.
By pushing him over the edge when he returned when he would have been fine, makes him a bad brother, even if his intentions were good.
Simple. kill them all. Sure it would be painful, but it save alot of trouble in the future. It was either kill his clan and leave Sasuke alive or Danzo and the leaf kill off the entire clan, including Sasuke. Which way would you have it?
I fail to see how this is irrelevant when this is a Naruto discussion thread, where we are free to discuss whatever fell like about the Naruto universe. Itachi was assigned to remove the uchiha threat from konoha, and even though he has removed the threat from the hidden leaf; One of the last members is now presenting himself a threat to other nations. So in a way, he failed the mission the night he sparred Sasuke. And yes, I would have made a better choice.ah, this is kinda irrelevant. Itachi was good to his brother as kids when there was no real problems. There were Some events and some words that happened to portray him as a bad brother but at the same time he made the best choices to keep his brother alive. Though sasuke was messed up, he still has a full life of development and growth to become a better person if he chooses to/grow up and understand that way of life. You can't say you would have made a better choice since no one here lives this fictional lifestyle.
He couldn't have foreseen that Tobi would tell Sasuke the truth. I think that if Tobi hadn't talked to Sasuke, Naruto would have had it easier to convince Sasuke to come back to Konoha. But essentially Tobi is a bit at fault for fueling Sasuke's hatred towards the village.I fail to see how this is irrelevant when this is a Naruto discussion thread, where we are free to discuss whatever fell like about the Naruto universe. The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.He couldn't have foreseen that Tobi would tell Sasuke the truth. Itachi tried his best to get Sasuke as strong as possible and tried to ensure that his death would make Sasuke a hero, but it didn't turn out that way *shrugs*
The only reason why he accepted that mission was to save Sasuke, the little brother he loved. He did it all to ensure that Sasuke stayed alive - and made mistakes in that process *shrugs* Nobody is perfect. He just tried his best and failed a bit.
 Maybe, but Itachi did what he thought was best at the time. He always had Sasuke's interest at heart, he just didn't use the right methods. The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
Seems like thats everyone's problems these days. Nagato wanted world domination to 'protect' everyone. Tobi's eternal sharingan moon thingamajig to control everyone and put them in some genjutsu paradise. The right idea at heart, but wrong execution. Maybe, but Itachi did what he thought was best at the time. He always had Sasuke's interest at heart, he just didn't use the right methods.
Well like the saying goes: the road to hell is paved with good intentions.Seems like thats everyone's problems these days. Nagato wanted world domination to 'protect' everyone. No, you're right. I may have made Itachi sound like a complete evil bastard, but what I was trying to prove was that he's not the super good perfect guy as people believe him to be, ya know what I mean?Well like the saying goes: the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
I don't say that what Itachi did was good. I just stated why he did that.
Ah like that, okay. I know what you mean. He's one of my favourite characters, but that doesn't mean that what he did was completely good. He isn't completely evil, but well, he made mistakes. So no, he isn't perfect ^^No, you're right. Karma level; Perfect neutral?Ah like that, okay. I know what you mean. He's one of my favourite characters, but that doesn't mean that what he did was completely good. He isn't completely evil, but well, he made mistakes. So no, he isn't perfect ^^
itachi is a villain and one of the worst psychopaths konohas ever produced. genocide, child mindrape, attempted murder for no good reason, plans of brainwashing and high treasonhe simply tried his best, failed on occasions, but also succeeded on many others. TBH in their world "Ninja world" Itachi is a Hero and a good brother, seeing how Ninjas live their lives
and the way he does this is mass genocide of women children and old men?Well, he had to kill his clan because it was an order from the Council. They were conspiring to take over Konoha and Itachi had to put a stop to it
if he refused the order he could kill the 3 elders then use KA to stop the coup. no one from uchihas needed to die.If he had refused the order, they would have killed his brother too and that he wanted to avoid.
why should sasuke have to be a shinobi? why does he need to be powerful?problem is, sasuke does not understand what does it mean to be a true
SHINOBI, Itachi was one he was a true shinobi, now sasuke doesn't understand that.
itachi thought torturing a kid will make him a good guy. thats how retarded he is. and he ordered sasuke to kill people for power, not make friends and become a hero.itachi thought sasuke should hate him too much and become the strongest in the village n then kill him and become the hero and then fight against akatsuki because he himself was close to his death n couldn't do it.
making friends = forget about revenge
except sasuke was already a villain. taking out another s-class doesnt make that s-class a hero.just wanted Sasuke to be regarded like a hero when he went back to Konoha
which shows itachi is insane and a villainbut he wanted his brother to get stronger and he thought taunting him etc was the best option at that time
sasukes interest in itachis opinion is being a controlled zombie under KA influence. which is as bad as what tobi wants. reality by turning it into a controlled dream is not real peace.Maybe, but Itachi did what he thought was best at the time. He always had Sasuke's interest at heart, he just didn't use the right methods.
making sure he kills everyone except sasuke, proves hes selfish insane and evil, putting one little kid above the lives of the rest of his clan, most of which were probabyl just duped into the coup and would have stopped if itachi asked them to.The only reason why he accepted that mission was to save Sasuke, the little brother he loved. He did it all to ensure that Sasuke stayed alive
nothing forced him to come back to konoha and break sasukes arm/put him in a coma. NOTHINGbut we should understand the situation Itachi's in forced him to do so
itachi made sure sasukes only path was being killed as a traitor or coming back to be killed again, as a traitor by root and danzo. he made sure sasuke would go insane and try to kill his friends for power.at the same time he made the best choices to keep his brother alive.
you forget the other options. blackmail hiruzen into surrender and thus a peaceful takeover. use KA to stop fugaku. or simply arrest uchihas for a fair trial after revealing their plans to the whole village rather than carrying out judgement by himself. leaving DANZO alive was a terrible mistake. It was either kill his clan and leave Sasuke alive or Danzo and the leaf kill off the entire clan, including Sasuke. Which way would you have it?
i wonder if he broke your arm, and tortured you three times, i wonder if youd still think hes a good brotherNot only Itachi is the best brother,
he hated sasuke. thats surely the only reason he did one of the worst acts of torture and mindfuking ive seen in anime.Anyway,Itachi tried his best and was a very loving brother,if not necessarily a good one.
