Itachi beats minato

Here is why itachi would win in a battle vs minato

Minato main power comes from his speed and ability to ftg to his seals. Well itachi is extremely fast himself as he was able to keep up with buji mode naruto and bee. So itachi speeds cancels out minato speed not because he is as fast as minato but because with his sharigan predicting minato movement he can react quickly enough to counter.
Of course minato still haa ftg and that makes his speed unmatchable but the main way he uses it is by throwing kunai with the seals already them near his opponents to teleport towards them. But in a battle with itachi that's a disadvantage for minato because itachi is the best when it comes to throwing kunai and shuriken so anything minato throws his way would get deflected.

So if it comes down to taijutsu I'm not sure who is better but I would give the edge to minato because he's faster but in a battle with itachi you just never know it may turn out to be a clone and blow up in minato face.

Now if minato makes any eye contact with itachi the fight is over we have yet to see a non uchiha capable of handling itachi genjutsu so their is no reason to believe minato could.

So I see this battle ending 3 possible ways
1 minato lose cuz he looks at itachi and gets caught in a genjutsu.
2 itachi lose cuz he runs out of chakra
3 they both die because of reaper death seal.

But I don't see minato beating itachi.

Itachi is quick.. i will agree with this but he is not as quick as minato and FTG can be used in various ways... not just by the use of kunai...

Minato has summonings to help aswell and since he is contracted with the frogs he can technically summon ma and pa and they can then perform the frog song which is one of the best genjutsu's

Minato is a close quarters fighter and so he would naturally be better at hand to hand combat and going in close to minato u are basically saying u are willing to die...

Itachi's genjutsu.. as u said this is dangerous however with minato moving as fast as he is he does not need to look into his eyes... remember kakashi managed to avoid eye contact with itachi the second time and gai managed to right from the beginning..

Minato has seals that could also possibly be lethal however we know little of these atm so i wont say much about them apart from that they have the potential to be incredibly lethal

Space/Time barrier Anything of great scale coming at minato he can always redirect it with the use of 2 kunai like he has done against the juubi using 1 kunai to choose the location and the other to warp the tech this essentially allows minato to use this tech in fast paced combat..

Minato with RDS can always end things in a stalemate like u said so it doesnt matter... thinking about it minato can never actually 'lose'

1. minato can break thru genjutsu by placing seals thus he can make a contract with his own body to undo one...

2. itachi's power genjutsu (tsukuyomi) requires seconds to activate....a ninja who senses chakra being accumulated to itachi's eye can easily dodge or blitz him while he accumulates closes his eye for a split second and die from a rasengan attack from his back...he can never blink.

3. death reaper seal isn't needed for itachi...his stamina is way too low...by manga canon, itachi can be blitzed and even sliced in half...period...
