[Discussion] Itachi and Sasukes battle

My only question about this battle is, what do you think happened to the battle ground? What happened to the Amaterasu that was all over the place that helped Sasuke create his Karin? I mean if it burns everything, if left unchecked it could burn everything around it. there were alot of trees to be burned. Only Sasuke right now could turn off the flames(from what we know).

So what do you all think? Is the battlefield still being burned? or was it stopped?

I know its a silly question, but its just something i thought about when i re-read this chapter.

But what does it mean by "target" it could be anything. Is it like a regular fire that spreads to other targets like say if you were to burn one thing that surrounds other will it catch on and continue to burn?

the immediate battle ground was barren there were no trees to burn it was said to burn for 3 days and 3 nights so its probably out by now

Now my next question would be if Amaterasu can burn anything, could it burn spirits and souls? For Example if Sasuke used it on Madara would it burn his soul as well?
