You know damn well that it's not worth "debating" against. Saying Itachi with prep loses to Jiraiya with prep because he has no prep feats is as bad as saying Konan > Kaguya with prep.​

The difference is that Konan's technique won't do anything to kaguya, while sound genjutsu one shots Itachi, like how kabuto didxd

I wasn't discussing the technique Konan used. I was trying to show you how ridiculous your statement was, because no amount of prep time despite her feat can make Konan able to defeat Kaguya. Your statement was simply the other side of the coin, a lack of prep feats doesn't make him incapable of preparing something to defend against an attack especially given his intelligence.​

The enhanced speed and chakra sensing associated with SM should allow Jiraiya to dodge Amaterasu as he just needs to sense chakra build-up in Itachi's eye and move away from Itachi's line of sight before the flames appear.

SM Jiraiya is not a perfect sage, and has no sensing feats.

Awesome thread. I'm actually into the philosophy of "if character A beats character B, doesn't mean that he automatically wins against character C". But. Itachi is the exception of course. If he negg-diffed, literally, Orochimaru, how hard would it be to beat a second Sannin with similar level of overall abilities? It's just common sense.

I don't buy that SM Jiraiya can actually counter Amaterasu, just do the fact that he can't predict what Jutsu it's going to be, and his SM speed feats don't showcase the speed necessary to avoid it. It's doesn't matter though, because since he can't predict what jutsu it will actually be, he's just as likely to attempt to shield against it as he is to try and evade.​

I agree about the A >B > C logic. It doesn't really work in Naruto except in certain cases. That's why I added everything thing else rather than just stop at that and disproving the scan. Thanks.​
