Itachi knows, so why didn't he free himself and go face madara

Perhaps he didn't know Madara was summoned?Or perhaps you can't use susanoo with only one eye. He lost one using izanami.Another possibility,perhaps there are different signs to release edo tensei and to release oneself from Edo tensei? Don't know, someone please fill me in on this.

May be he didn't know that. Edo is incomplete afterall.

Itachi obviously didnt know about Edo Tensei's hand signs, he said so himself. He did learn the hand signs at the last moment, but this wouldnt have shown him that he could STAY ALIVE by doing the signs himself. And lastly, I dont even think he would want to stay on earth, he is relying on the Shinobi forces to take care of them and Naruto to take care of Sasuke.
